For a particularly lovely outing in Santa Fe, head over to the nearby Gruet Winery for a sparkling wine tasting. The wine bar and tasting room has a crisp and clean interior with a Spanish-Mission design: white adobe walls, wrought iron chandeliers, and arched doorways. Or enjoy your tasting on the outdoor patio space with burbling fountains, shade trees, and candlelight in the evenings. The elegant space is bright and refreshing, much like the bubbly wine they serve.
As a guest at our Santa Fe Bed and Breakfast, the Gruet Winery is only a scenic ten-minute walk—most of our favorite attractions are within walking distance—from our Inn. You’ll absolutely be thrilled with our location; it’s central and close to all of the activity but also set back on a quiet street, ideal for a relaxing getaway. Our six guest rooms are each uniquely appointed with bright colors and textiles akin to Southwestern cultures. All rooms have private entrances and access to our gorgeous garden patios.
Cozy up by the fire, bask in the sunshine, and enjoy a complimentary breakfast each morning in the lounge. These are just the start of the amenities you’ll find here. We can’t wait to host you at our Santa Fe Bed and Breakfast this year! Check our availability and book today.
A Founder of Santa Fe Sparkling Wine: Gruet Winery
Since the 1980s, this Santa Fe winery has been breaking barriers for the industry in the Southwest. The story behind Gruet Winery begins in Bethon, France, where the founder, Gilbert Gruet, planted his first vineyard in 1952. In the early 80s, Gruet had his eye on land in the US and settled on New Mexico for his sparkling crops. The first release from Gruet Winery grown in New Mexico was in 1989: the 1987 Brut and Blanc de Noir.
Decades later, Gruet Winery continues to produce beautiful wines and has made quite a name for itself in the industry. The tasting room in Santa Fe opened in 2016 and is a perfect spot for a quiet date night or early afternoon flight. They offer wine by the glass, sparkling wine cocktails, and light appetizers. We often hear from our return guests that they include a stop at Gruet Winery each time they visit Santa Fe.
While Gruet Winery is a great destination, there are so many fantastic New Mexico wineries and wine bars to check out on your stay. Continue reading for other great spots for a glass of wine in Santa Fe!
