Spring Weather in Santa Fe
The spring weather in Santa Fe is ideal for those who love to enjoy the outdoors. The cold winter temperatures tend to dissipate and lead to warmer averaging between 60 and 70 degrees. Early spring tends to be a little cooler, meaning you won’t have to deal with large crowds, but April and May offer the perfect ratio of weather to crowds.
The Best Spring Activities in Santa Fe
Go for a Hike
Venture outside of the city during your spring trip to Santa Fe. There are many outdoor adventures awaiting you in the surrounding mountains and plateaus. Pack a picnic lunch and choose your excursion(s). You can head east into the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, where there are miles of hiking trails weaving through the beautiful and rugged terrain. Pecos National Park is further afield but also offers plenty of hiking opportunities in addition to some unique Civil War history. Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument and Bandelier National Monument are further afield but pack in plenty of otherworldly sites and tons of history.

If you want to take a break from the outdoors, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Museum of International Folk Art, and the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture are excellent spots to take in Southwestern culture, history, and art. For a truly unique experience, make sure you stop by Meow Wolf. This fun and interactive science-fiction mystery revolves around technology and art to create an engaging story for visitors.
