The Top Activities in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains
1. Skiing
Skiing is one of the best activities that you’ll find in the mountains in Northern New Mexico. Winter brings plenty of snow to several popular ski areas in between Santa Fe and Taos.
With well over fifty slopes, including more than two dozen black diamonds, split between the upper and lower mountains, you’ll find there is something for everyone in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Ski Santa Fe lift tickets begin at $40 for beginners and work their way up to $300 for a four-day pass.
Of course, there are a couple of other ski areas near Taos, but if you’re staying in the City Different, the Santa Fe ski area is the place to go.
